Years ago (around the time the Commander was introduced) (no, I can’t be bothered to look that up) there was a Jeep “TRAIL RATED” promotion at a local ski area. They drove a fleet of various TRAIL RATED jeeps out on the snow near the base lift, in the morning, when everything was cold and frozen solid. Later in the day, they went to move them, of course, they were all on street tires but that wouldn’t have mattered, because they all spun wheels and then sunk in the softened snow up to the frame rails or whatever. Beached. All of them. Had to be towed out by the snowcat onto solid ground. In front of a growing crowd.

Now I won’t get into discussions about which of those Jeeps had any business “ off-roading” in the first place, because I’m pretty sure you could have driven any AWD car or probably any car at all onto the hard snow in the morning, and almost none of them would have gotten out of there by the afternoon, short of an Icelandic truck with tires made for driving on soft snow.

I had one of those jack holes last year. Some guy who created his account just to give me shit about my opinion while telling me about his Mustangs that he almost certainly made up in his head. He didn’t even understand my comment.  I tried to talk to him, but then gave up and just dismissed.
